"Songs For Us To Sing" / New Songs

Songs For Us To Sing has been out about a month now, and we will be celebrating the release of it tomorrow night; Friday, April 30 in Denver at the Hi Dive.  Mehko and Ocean Birds will be playing (you really don't wanna miss it if you haven't seen them) as well as Bad Weather California and Heavy Drags.

We have already dove head first into the next album, which we hope will be done in less than 18 months.  The album is 11 tracks right now.

We will be starting the recording in the next month.  We can't wait for it.  

For now, we will be selling "Songs For Us To Sing" at shows, or you can buy it online at our myspace.  The hard copy comes in a double pocket cardstock case.  Each case is hand numbered (1-200 for the first batch).  The covers were hand rolled for the yellow strip, and then we used a wood block and a press for the text and images on top of the strip.  The CDs are replicated and will play in any CD player.  Legit.  And there is a full-color 20 page booklet (thanks to Josh House for the layout and Citizen for the great print job) inside including all of the lyrics and art made by Anna.  We had a fun time making the cds... hope you enjoy!

We are very excited for our CD release show in Fort Collins at the end of the month.  It will be at Hodi's Half Note with Bad Weather California, Common Anomaly, and Sour Boy, Bitter Girl.  The show starts at 8:00 pm and the music start at 8:30 pm.  It's a cheap one, and it's ALL AGE.

We are playing the Meadowlark this Saturday!

We are honored to be playing with Sun Red (previously known as (die) Pilot), Old Radio, and Night of Joy this Saturday, Feb. 27 at the Meadowlark.

Feb 26, 2010 - Welcome to the new Paean blog / News / CD Release

Welcome to our new blog.  We will be posting news, photos, downloads, tour info, local news, stuff about our awesome friends, and maybe reviews of things we do (perhaps tonight's curling tournament and bonfire).

Our full-length "Songs For Us To Sing" is set to be released March 2010.  There is an official release show at Hodi's Halfnote in Fort Collins on March 26th.  We are excited we get share the bill with three different friends' bands: Bad Weather California, Common Anomaly, and Sour Boy, Bitter Girl.  More info and poster to come soon.

We will be doing a tour this summer, but don't have specific dates.

Also, Marty and I will be heading to Austin, Texas for SXSW with our other band Candy Claws, so look at the band's myspace if you'll be in the area.
